Underage Drinking & Teen Drinking Prevention
Even a few years ago the scenario was different, but now one thing that is really moving the teenagers in the wrong direction is the habit of consuming alcohol. Consumption of alcohol is not bad if kept on check. But most of the time, this control is lost. And losing this control becomes bad for the person concerned especially if he or she is a teenager.
Teenage is that time when a person is going through both physical and mental changes. Many doors open in front of them about which they never knew of. And some of these doors are so shiny that few can escape the urge to see what is behind them. But these doors are somewhat like hotel California, you can come in but it is hard to check out.
Drinking is always restricted when you are underage. And that makes it irresistible for most teens to drink. But still this age bar is the most successful step taken towards prevention of teen drinking and has saved many lives on the roads.
Some other measures can also be taken. Raising the price of alcohol is one. It has been seen that raising the price of alcohol can help. Higher price of alcohol is indirectly proportional to the number of drinks taken, a research says. School based and family based programs should also be started. These programs help as the environment helps the boy or the girl to grow in an environment which is free of alcohol. Parents also play important role and it is up to the parents to make their child lead an alcohol free teenage.
Alcoholism at later life can lead to various problems and disorders. This takes a big form if a person starts drinking early in life. So it is better to avoid alcohol if possible.
